6.5k run to work, 100 squats this evening (after a brilliant wine tasting: Cuisine Top 10 Chardonnay's!)
Plan on a swim at 6am tomorrow, anyone joining me?
First session for the competition this morning - who knew the world existed at this time of morning. Winter is definitely here: -0.4 degrees this morning. Measurements done, photos taken. Arms feeling heavy after running through my weights programme for the next four weeks - 7 pushups nearly killed me, I wonder how long it will take me to get to my goal of 20 pushups!
Excited about my first session for this competition with my PT Amanda Armitage, tomorrow at 6.30am. Does the world actually exist at that time???!!! Not sure when I last got up at 5.30am, but really keen to try to motivate myself to do it more often. Anyone in Christchurch keen to meet for swimming at Pioneer some weekday mornings, I was planning on being there 6am this Friday. Good run today, to work, in the rain! Definitely made me feel tough - usually weather like that would me driving to work - but not this week! Feeling good about my diet - recording everything I eat on MyFitnessPal, although I don't like having to know calories rather than kilojoules, which I'm used to. Might have undone some of today's good work though - wine tasting tonight at Vino Fino! There have to be some treats, and wine tasting is definitely one of my hobbies. Maybe I'll have to rethink that sometime later in the competition as the targets get closer, but until then - all things in moderation - and red wine IS meant to be good for your heart.
This is it, the start of the 20 Week Challenge! Mother Nature was testing my toughness this morning - 4 degrees on the way to work, but now only 1987km left to bike.
Usually at this time of year I would begin to hibernate, wrap up warm inside and stop most exercise - BUT NOT THIS YEAR!
Still had lots of first-day motivation this afternoon, so out for a run. Long may the motivation continue!
Less than 8 hours until the start of the 20 Week Challenge!!! The excitement is building, can't wait until my first session with my PT, Amanda Armitage, on Wednesday.
Let the fun begin!
In preparation for the Adventures starting next week I jumped on the mountain bike for the first time in about four months - felt great! Bottle Lake has a twisty new track that adds more interest to the ride, but there are quite a few patches of deep sand to contend with.
